Rest in paint Alex Colville

His paintings were mystical but not untouchable. The moments so common, I would find myself lost in time wondering what frame could possibly follow the story he was telling in still paint.

Present with brush and paint in hand at Juno Beach in France during WWII, Mr. Colville recorded stories of some of the most significant war moments in our history.

He will be missed but his tales will live forever in galleries, sketchbooks, postcards and dusty corners waiting for the next set of eyes to gaze upon their subjects.
