Roll the credits!!!

Newfoundland has taken its place in my heart and positioned itself high on my list. The adventure I began just over 1 week ago with Matt and his team has now come to a close.

It's time for the thank yous:

Shevaun Dan and Joanne, thank you for all of your help planning, emailing, booking adjusting and booking again to make this all happen.

Blair, it was great to see a familiar face at the airport. Very impressed by your willingness to lend a hand and offer support to the team. Sorry I missed you before I left but I'll be back.

Mom and Dad. Thanks for the support and your willingness to let Matthew do as he wants. I know you were relieved to know that i would be by Matt's side on this one.

Lester and Henry. On the verge of speechless. After many years of working with Matthew I hoped that the right balance would soon come along to help him achieve as much independence while creating a clear definition between care and family. I now feel as though I can rediscover my role as Matthew's brother, no longer care giver. You two are a blessing. Thank you for everything.

And last but not least, Matthew. It's been a long road bent by sadness, frustration, happiness and laughter yet the big wheels keep on turning. You're a fighter but more importantly a fighter in control of his emotions, a quality worth admiring.

I've known you forever and will always have you in my heart, my mind and stories that I will share in the years to come. I never now how much longer you will be with me but I know that when the day comes you and I will both know that we did the best we could with what we had. Here's to my line mate on and off the ice, my competition at the dinner table and to my brother whom in the end is my friend, I will always be me for you.
